Traditional Dentures in Jackson MS

Missing teeth can cause a lot of problems. It can lead to lack of confidence and make a person hesitant to talk in public. It can also lead to difficulties when it comes to eating. Dentures are made to replace the missing teeth to restore function and appearance.

Traditional Dentures

A typical denture is made up of two parts the base and the teeth set. The base is made from plastic that is colored to look like gum tissue. The teeth set is made from either porcelain or plastic. The traditional denture is held in place with a seal on the gums.

How Do We Make Dentures?

After a tooth is lost or removed bone and gum tissue will gradually take its place. This process would take a few weeks. Once that healing process is done we can make a traditional denture for you.

We start the process of making the denture by making several impressions of your mouth. These impressions would be used in making a model of your mouth, which in turn will be used for creating the denture.

It would take a few weeks to finish the denture. You might have to go back once a week for 4 or 5 weeks so that we can be sure that the denture would be a perfect fit and we can make adjustments and changes if there is a need for it. Once the denture has been made you might have to return regularly within the first month to make sure that there are no problems with it.

How Will Dentures Affect Your Appearance?

Dentures can definitely enhance your physical appearance. It might be uncomfortable to wear your dentures at first. It could take some time before you can figure out the right way to remove and put in the dentures.

It is very important that you come back to us during the first month of wearing your dentures so that we can make adjustments to the parts that could be causing irritation to the gums and other oral tissues. Eating while wearing your dentures would take some time to get used to and it would be best if you were to start with soft foods and then work your way to a more normal diet as you become used to your dentures.

Speaking might also take some practice and the denture might get dislodged by exaggerated movements of the mouth. As the oral tissues become used to the presence of the denture you will have an easier time eating and speaking.

We can help you through the process every step of the way.  You can be confident that our dentures, service and aftercare will make all the difference.
